In this easy drawing art tutorial I explain, using a simple step by step approach how to draw an elephant in easy to follow simple stages. We start with just a few oval shapes drawn very lightly and progress to an outline. I teach you how to make the outline suggest the elephant’s wrinkled skin. Adding light, shade and tone to the drawing will make the elephant look three dimensional. You will need an HB pencil for the initial outlines which are drawn lightly. A 4B or softer pencil will be required for the final shading. To finish the drawing of how to draw an elephant I explain how to get rid of the outline to create an edge around the elephant. We do this because it makes the animal look more realistic and more three dimensional.
