Draw Basics: PART 1 – One Point Perspective

Views

Understanding one point perspective is important if you are going to draw buildings or most three dimensional objects. In this art tutorial I explain how understanding that eye level is actually the equivalent of the horizon is key. It is also essential to understand that the point between your eyes is the vanishing point. Believe it or not, that point will always be on the horizon.

To understand this stand on a beach, look at the horizon, it will be on level with your eyes.  Bend your legs and the horizon will move with you. The vanishing point  is where the one point perspective is. The video explains how all horizontal lines must go to the vanishing point and all vertical lines must remain vertical.

The art tutorial is aimed at beginners and those wanting to improve their drawing skills. This is the first in a series of three art tutorials on how to use perspective.
