How to Draw a Figure in Proportion, in this art tutorial I’ll explain how to work out the proportions of an adult and a child. It is a simple process. By using the head as the measure I’ll show you, step by step, how to achieve a simple sketch of a figure in proportion. The idea is to take the size of the head and work out the proportion of the figure from there. For example, a small child’s head is around a quarter the height of is body, proportion of around 1 to 4. Using the same technique, an adult male is around 1 to 7 in proportion. an adult female around 1 to 6. These proportions will vary depending on the height of a particular person. Once you have mastered how to draw a figure in proportion your figure drawing will improve dramatically.
