In this art video I’m going to explain how to use a paintbrush artistically, and creatively. If you use a paintbrush creatively you can produce wonderful brush marks on a canvas or paper. This video demonstration uses acrylic paint because it is easier to display strong colour. But the principles work with any type of paint. The video intended for beginners, and those who are new to painting as well as children and young people who are aspiring artists.
I explain how by varying the pressure on the brush and twisting your wrist you can create many different effects in paint. I also show how wonderfully random brushstrokes can be, and how we should aim to preserve them as beautiful individual brushstrokes.
